Comments I wrote during a buddy read of The Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook Book 3

Page 0 – I love trains. This one is going to be fun.

Page 58 – Of course glitter. Oh, I hope he does a glitter bomb.

Page 64 – Carl always about sharing intel.

Page 84 – If the countdown doesn’t get you, the death of individuals will.

Page 85 – Poor Vernon. He deserved better than fire ants.

Page 94 – Earning the Queasy Rebuff SUCKED.

Page 133 – Oh no, not Donut. They were trying so hard to be skull-free.

Page 318 – The build-up to Katia becoming a cow-catch scoop has been happening throughout the whole book. I’ve written stuff like this where I go, “damn everything led to this and I didn’t even know it” and other times I discover the solution and have to back track and put all the parts into the story. The McGyvering solution is really pretty (the combination of momentum bonuses, weight addition, and skill-set to build the non-human shape). I wonder if this is one of the ones where “I want to reach this point, what do I need to write to get there” or if it was “Okay, I have reached this problem, how do I solve it with what I got.”

Page 334 – Hekla, “I made a mistake. We need a pause and a reset.”
This WITCH is using her psyche degree to control everyone.
“oops, I got caught, so everyone else needs to calm down and let me take control back”

Page 407 – Okay, the ability to stick out your tongue and give the middle finger at the same time rocks.

Page 429 – Now the question, based on the propaganda bent of the presentations, is just how psycho is Lucia Mar, really?

Page 430 – The Burton Corporation should thank Carl for using chat so often. Monetizing the curiosity of those who must know what is happening in there should help with their debt.

Page 433 – I love the deadpan of this: “We are purchasing a personal space upgrade,” Mordecai said, “A cleaner bot.” … Katia wordlessly paid for it , and we marched back into the personal space.

Page 444 – It takes a team to figure out the puzzle of level four – (1) art; (2) history; (3) problem-solver.

Page 503 – This is such a party-line. Loita is little better than press-secretary-Barbie: “Yes,” Loita said. “We are putting tighter controls on the information crawlers are being fed through these interviews in an attempt to make the crawl more equitable toward those who aren’t privileged enough to get a view of the world outside the dungeon.”

Page 521 – Overall, not as fun as the previous two, I think because of the long-setup for the train puzzle payoff. Other opinions?
